How to wear a staple piece

What's up guys, I'm here to help YOU be able to rock a staple piece like a badass. Now, what is a staple piece anyways? A staple piece is the part and ONLY part of your outfit that stands out from the rest of your outfit. These staple pieces usually come in tops like a t-shirt or hoodie that sports a medium to a large size logo on it. Now it doesn't only have to be your tops, if you know what you you're doing you can make your staple piece any part of your outfit. Now that we've got that covered let's move on to how to rock a staple piece.

Make the rest of your outfits bland.

Your staple piece is the main focus of your outfit. You don't want other parts of your outfit taking attention away from that staple piece. So what you want to do is to make the rest of your outfit in solid colors. What I would personally do is make the rest of my outfit in neutral colors, such as black, white and grey. The reason for this is because neutral colors tend to be my favorite go to as they are easier to make fits with. You can use neutral colors in a monochromatic fashion for example, all black or make them contrast each other as they are easy colors to block. Speaking of blocking, lets get on to the next topic.

Color Blocking

Color blocking is basically mixing two colors that contrast each other. you can color block any type of color palette ranging from neutral colors to muted and bright colors.

Here's an example below.

Here, you have a muted color outfit, consisting of a grey sweater with a navy blue jacket over it and navy trousers. The pattern here is navy blue over grey over navy blue, with the main colors obviously being navy blue and grey.

Here's another example below.

Here we have an outfit consisting a light blue button down with khaki chino. The pattern here is light blue over khaki and I trust you already know the main colors. Get it now? Great! Lets move on.

Now that we got the hang of color blocking it's time to show you guys how you can apply that to wearing a staple piece. Like I said before, when rocking a staple piece you want the rest of your outfit to have a solid color.

Here's an example.

In this outfit, the Adidas Trefoil Hoodie is your staple piece since it's the only part of the outfit that stands out due it's logo. You color block by mixing a black hoodie on top of a solid dark green jogger.

Here's another example.

Now in this outfit the sweatshirt is the only part of the outfit that stands out again due to the large logo on it, so therefore, it's your staple piece. You're color blocking by mixing a dark grey sweatshirt with a light blue denim.

In summary you're applying color blocking to make your outfit subtle so it doesn't take attention away from your staple piece. Now that we've covered color blocking lets move on to its opposite.

Monochromatic

Monochromatic fashion is when your whole outfit is of one color or different shades of the same color.

Now that we've covered what monochromatic fashion is. Let me explain how YOU can apply it to rocking a staple piece. Literally all you have to do is take your staple piece which could be hoodie, sweatshirt or a t-shirt and make your ENTIRE outfit the same color as your staple piece.

Here's an example.

Here you have a blue t-shirt, a blue jacket, and light blue jeans where the staple piece is your t-shirt.

Another example.

And here you have a dark grey sweatshirt on top of light grey denim where the staple pieced is the sweatshirt. Simple, right?

Alright, lets go over what we've just learned. To rock a staple piece in an outfit you must 1. Make sure the rest of your outfit doesn't stand out. 2. Color block your outfit. Or 3. Go monochromatic.
