What's up gents? I'm here to help you impress the ladies by telling you what not to wear if you are trying to impress that gorgeous mademoiselle across the class, office, wherever you're at. Now instead of just trying to look on the internet what girls don't like on a guy, I decided it would be best if I just asked several of them and get their opinion on the matter. From what I compiled these were the top 10 I got the most from girls when it came to what guys are wearing that they don't like.
10. Baggy Clothing
People do realize the oversize clothing trend is supposed to make you look stylish now right? So, why do some men look like they weigh over 250 pounds and their head looks like a cherry in comparison. Listen gents, when it comes to looking stylish fit is key. Without the proper fit you're either going to be uncomfortable or too comfortable. Not that being too comfortable is bad thing, in fact I believe there's no such thing as being to comfortable, however this can be the case when your clothes are too big. Wearing baggy clothing is going to make your body look disproportionate and just draw attention to those problem areas that some people try to hide by wearing baggy clothing. Now why do girls find this unattractive in a guy? Well the answer is simple. It's just unstylish, it makes a person look sloppy and looking sloppy can have people, specifically girls think you don't care about how you look (Wait, isn't not giving a shit what girls find attractive?).
9. Saggy Pants
Need I say more? Well apparently I do. There are a lot of potential gentlemen out there that still sag their pants unnecessarily showing their underwear to others. Not only is this inappropriate, but it creeps the ladies out and sagging your pants to the bottom of your butt is going to give the illusion that you're a lot shorter than you actually are. For example, if you're at around the short height of 5'6, then sagging your pants is immediately going to bring you down 3 inches. Well great, now you look shorter than the average girl. No girl is gonna want a guy that looks shorter than them. Gentlemen the only appropriate time you should be showing your underwear game is in the bedroom to that hot mademoiselle you brought home.
8. Satin Shirt
Look gents while it is okay to be bold with your clothing in fact, actually awesome, there are some clothes that are just too bold. Satin is one such example. Gentlemen your shirts are not supposed to look shiny, but who am I to decide that. If you guys want to go wear a satin shirt go ahead. However, a lot of girls just don't like the shiny look on a guy's shirt.
7. Bleach Jeans
Bleached jeans is great if you're trying to go for that grunge aesthetic. However, a lot of girls prefer that clean casual style rather than the messy casual look that the grunge style give off. if you're trying to look clean, then you need to throw these in the trash if you have a pair (or you can just be resourceful and sell it or something... now that I think about it that's actually a pretty good idea. You can get some money, use it to buy stylish clothes or even better: buy stocks, get rich, buy a mansion, look out the window of your mansion and contemplate on how far you came just by selling some bleached jeans while getting expensive hookers to suck your di-) -cough- -cough- okay, let's move on.
6. Leather Pants
Okay gentlemen, I get it, leather is cool, it's sexy. Wearing a leather jacket or some leather boots or both can immediately make a guy look badass. However, unless you're in a rock band you shouldn't be wearing leather pants. Specifically, skinny leather pants that shows off your leg way too much and now you're stuck that way for the rest of your life because you can't take them off. This is going to make girls think you're trying to hard to impress people and trying to seek validation which is unattractive to women. Speaking of skinny pants...
5. Super Skinny Jeans
Gentlemen no! If you're wearing tight jeans and you look at your ass in the mirror and want to tap that ass, then your jeans are probably too tight. Gents let me tell you this now before it's too late. No gorgeous mademoiselle is going to want to be with a guy with tighter pants than her. Wearing super tight jeans or a better name for them: spray on jeans, because they look like they've literally sprayed onto your legs is going to make a guy look feminine and most girls don't want to be with feminine looking guys. Don't worry though because I'm going to show you guys how your jeans should fit sometime soon.
4. Cargo Shorts
I have nothing against cargo pants for the record. I think cargo pants can look great if they fit right and are tapered, but really its because I also like the futuristic hacker style: tech wear. However, what I and the ladies are against are these baggy cargo shorts that reaches below your knee. Listen I get it, they're roomy and convenient. I used to wear them all the time when I was younger, you know the ones with the fabric belts. However these shorts are going to make you look sloppy and look like a frat bro.
3. Deep V-necks
Gentlemen you should only be wearing this as an undershirt, never as a t-shirt. For those of you who are so bold to wear this, let me tell you something. You may think you're blessing that sexy mademoiselle with your hairy wolverine chest, but trust me the only thing you're blessing is your chances of not getting laid. Ever. Wearing a deep v-neck as a t-shirt is just going to make you look like humongous douche, so please do all the ladies a favor and humble yourselves.
2. Scarves
A man wearing a scarf is not a bad thing. A man wearing a silk scarf isn't a bad thing either, however, it does reduces the illusion of a man's masculinity. Gentlemen if you want to appear as manly as possible with a scarf on I'd recommend avoiding lightweight fabrics such as silk and stick with heavy fabrics like cotton or wool. I'd also recommend wearing them when appropriate, specifically in the colder seasons.
1. Boat Shoes
Gentlemen, you have no idea how popular Sperrys are at my school. I see many of my schoolmates wear them all the time and I can see why. These shoes give off that nautical but at the same time a casual preppy vibe. However they don't seem to be popular with a lot of girls. Believe it or not to some girls, like the cargo shorts wearing Sperrys can make you look like a frat "bro" and that's a stereotype that can turn some girls off. However, while Sperrys are not necessarily a bad thing there is a greater alternative.
Gentlemen I would like you to meet the loafer. While it does look very formal, this shoe can be worn both formal, like with a suit and casually, such as with chino shorts and a button down.
Gentlemen, let me make this clear before the end of this post. While this may be about what not to wear when trying to impress girls, your primary reason for dressing well should be for your own sake. Not anyone else. And if you're wearing any of the things on this list and you genuinely like that piece of clothing, then you shouldn't care what girls or anyone else for that matter think...
Except for number nine and three, what the hell are you thinking if you're wearing these.
